About the Market
We are an open air, producer-only market. Our farmers sell what they grow, harvest, raise, and produce.
The Delafield Farmers’ Market began in 1991 as an independent, vendor-owned entity. All produce and products available have been grown, processed, or crafted by the participating vendors. In Spring 2010 the Market incorporated as a nonprofit organization.
Our Purpose and Vision
- The Delafield Farmers’ Market desires to…
Promote and provide direct producer-to-consumer economic opportunities;
- Provide consumers and the community of Delafield the opportunity to “buy local” thereby enhancing an educational opportunity to learn from farmers and producers the benefits of using fresh, quality, locally grown, locally crafted produce and products;
- Provide an educational environment for local farmers and small businesses to learn entrepreneurial skills in selling and marketing goods;
- Serve as a community-building event in the city of Delafield in the spirit of health and economic viability for all.
- Support local musicians and our value-added sponsors in turn making the shopping experience fun for all.
All of the farmers and vendors are local (within a 50 mile radius, with some exceptions); therefore, all the produce and products offered are the freshest possible. We have an ever-changing venue of offerings with a wide array of vegetables and fruits throughout the market season, along with specialty food and bakery items, artisan wares, and delicious on-site food for sale. Our diverse group of musicians and sponsors offers our customers an ever-changing shopping experience.
The Market has become a Spring, Summer, and Fall, Saturday morning gathering place for local residents and Lake Country visitors of all ages. It is a place for individuals and families to build relationships, socialize, and support the farmers, growers, and producers who help supply the food items and products we use and enjoy every day.
